LGBT radio taxi service 'Wings Rainbow'

India has moved a step closer towards the inclusion of the LGBT community in the mainstream strata. The first LGBT radio taxi has been launched in Mumbai which will earn the members of the LGBT community a respectable living.

Shilpa, Sanjeevani and Ankit, who till now were living a "shadowed existence" can move out into the sunshine and experience the world like the rest of us. They can now have real jobs, and walk proud with their heads held high.

Launched by a premiere travel company on Wednesday, 'Wings Rainbow' comes as an empowering initiative that will not only strengthen the fight for LGBT rights but also make humans more accepting of them, who for the longest time have been considered an abomination.
The programme will train five members of the community to hone their skills for driving a radio cab. After six months of soft skills training and driving lessons, they will be awarded driving licences. Wings Rainbow will be rolled out within a year's time.
